LV DISTRIBUTION PANELS

a) Main Distribution Boards (MDB):

  • An MDB is a panel or enclosure that houses the fuses, circuit breakers and ground leakage protection units where the electrical energy, which is used to distribute electrical power to numerous individual circuits or consumer points, is taken in from the transformer or an upstream panel. An MDB typically has a single or multiple incoming power sources and includes main circuit breakers and residual current or earth leakage protection devices.
  • A MDB is comprised of a free-standing enclosure, a bus bar system, MCCB’s, metering and support equipments and required current transformers. Panels are assembled in a systematic manner such as incomer section and outgoing section.

b) Sub Main Distribution Boards (SMDB):

  • From the High-Risk Construction Oversight Study (HRCO), 41 recommendations were developed to strengthen the safety and oversight of these activities recommendations.
  • Construction is a dangerous business and workers must take every precaution to protect themselves from the risks of the job. Employers are required by law to provide construction workers with safety harnesses.

C) Final Distribution Boards:

  • The electrical wiring is carried out to distribute current from a single source of supply to various circuits, such arrangement of circuits is made inside an enclosure called Distribution Board. The Distribution Board is not merely an enclosure but a comprehensive system in itself, comprising of copper bus bars, brass neutral links, earth links to facilitate effective distribution of current.
  • It incorporates safety devices such as MCBs, ELCBs and Isolators, which serves to protect the installation. A wide range of compact, elegant & economical DBs with unique features, designed & engineered to provide user safety, convenience and operational / maintenance advantages are offered.
